We are growing in the Stockholm region and are introducing a new leadership structure
As a first strategic step to continue to grow and develop Ström & Gulliksson’s offering in the Stockholm and Östergötland region, a new leadership structure with two new teams was established 1 September 2022. The two teams are led by European Patent Attorneys Dr Edmund Lobb and Dr Fredrik Carlsson. Christian Arkelius continues in his role as head of the Stockholm office and oversees our continued expansion in the region, including Linköping, where Sofia Willquist represents the firm.
Edmund Lobb is also a qualified UK patent attorney and was recruited directly from a top-tier firm in London four years ago. “I am delighted to be taking on leadership of one of the two newly formed teams in Stockholm. This development will keep us growing and moving forward in Sweden and across Europe”, says Edmund Lobb. “We are on a mission to expand our offering as a full-service patent firm in the region, and I am truly looking forward to developing the team to meet the needs of our clients.”
Fredrik Carlsson, a specialist in chemistry who has a wealth of experience in oral proceedings at the EPO, is looking forward to his new role. “It is with great pride that I take over a team with incredibly broad competence and a variety of experiences. I want to work with everyone to achieve their full potential and to make full use of their specialist knowledge. We will continue to work cross-border, both with Advokatbyrån Gulliksson and with our colleagues in Malmö and Lund. The needs of the customer are always in focus and we all work to build relationships based on both the right skills and high-quality service.” says Fredrik Carlsson.
“For me, who has had the role of team leader for our entire team in Stockholm for just over ten years, it feels good to hand over responsibility to Ed and Fredrik,” says Christian Arkelius. “On the one hand, it frees up time for me to develop our business, not least in Stockholm and Linköping where we are already represented through Sofia Willquist, but it is also proof that our employees have developed and want to take on greater responsibility. Ed and Fredrik have both been named as Rising Stars by MIP and possess great qualities to lead both experienced patent consultants and trainees. Through two teams in the region, we become more scalable and can grow further.”
Ongoing recruitment for all offices to meet the increasing demand
Ström & Gulliksson strives to have a mix of experiences and backgrounds in its teams. In addition to ongoing recruitment of patent consultants to join the Stockholm office’s journey, recruitment is also underway in Malmö and Lund.
