Patent Consultant
The Intersection of Technology and Law
During my studies in Mechanical Engineering at Lund University of Technology, my interest in the patent field was sparked through a course in patent and intellectual property law. It was there that I gained my first insight into the field, and during the ARKAD career fair, my interest deepened further through conversations with several patent attorneys, particularly with Ström & Gulliksson.
My time as a trainee at Ström & Gulliksson has been very positive. From the outset, I have worked on active cases alongside supervisors, combined with a gradual introduction to how the industry operates in practice. This has created valuable opportunities to immediately apply my technical knowledge in a new context, while at the same time building a solid understanding of intellectual property work.
One aspect of the role that has become especially clear to me is the importance of linguistic precision. Legal language is, in many respects, a system of its own, where every word and inflection carries weight. However, through continuous work and regular reviews, a sense for wording, structure, and argumentation gradually develops. I find particular satisfaction in methodically working through texts and refining lines of reasoning.
Meetings with inventors also provide a unique insight into new and innovative technology, and taking part in their dedication and drive is both inspiring and professionally rewarding. An interest in argumentation and discussion—particularly with clients—is a clear asset in this role, where different perspectives must be balanced and solutions developed strategically to best meet the client’s needs.
My genuine interest in law is further strengthened by Ström & Gulliksson’s close collaboration with Advokatbyrån Gulliksson, which creates added value both for my own professional development and for clients through a combined and broad expertise.
Looking ahead, I have a strong ambition to take on independent client responsibility, deepen relationships with clients, and build long-term, trust-based collaborations.
