From an idea to a grant – with the curiosity of a detective

With over 25 years of experience in the industry, I find the most rewarding aspect of working as a patent attorney is identifying what is patentable in an invention. Whether it involves formulating an idea from scratch or addressing complex objections during prosecution, contributing to the protection of innovations is always a satisfying process.

The combination of technology, language, and law has been a key factor in sustaining my passion for this exciting field since completing my doctorate. Since 2004, I have also been involved in designing and grading one of the exams required to qualify as a European Patent Attorney. This role not only allows me to contribute to the profession’s development but also keeps me informed about legislative changes—knowledge essential for providing accurate and up-to-date advice to my clients.

Additionally, I serve as a government-appointed technical expert, assisting the Patent and Market Court at the Stockholm District Court and the Patent and Market Court of Appeal at the Svea Court of Appeal in patent-related disputes. This work offers valuable insights and a unique perspective on legal processes.

My technical expertise in the patent field spans several areas, including installation technology, automotive technology, and medical technology, with experience in products such as catheters and dental implants.

As a patent attorney, I believe that understanding my clients’ businesses and the purpose of their innovations is essential for delivering high-quality results. For the best outcomes, I prefer in-person meetings. Not only are these discussions about inventions rewarding, but visiting clients also provides valuable insights into their operations and a deeper understanding of their goals.
